Samuele Marcucci, founder of Apps Made Better

THE PERSON BEHIND THE APPS

Hi, I’m
Samuele.

I make native iPhone apps, and I care a lot about how they feel to use.

I’m Samuele Marcucci, the founder of Apps Made Better and the person building Live Orbit. I live in New York City. The company is based in Texas.

I’m involved in the whole process: deciding what an app should do, working through the design, building it, testing it, and getting it ready to release. I like being close enough to the work to notice when something still needs another pass.

WHAT I’M BUILDING

Making space
easier to explore.

Live Orbit brings together satellites, maps, visible passes, and sky guidance in an iPhone app. It’s a chance to take something complicated and give it a clear, visual interface that people can explore for themselves.

The work goes beyond how a screen looks. I spend time on how it responds, how information is presented, and what happens when something doesn’t load or a person needs help. A polished screenshot is a start. The app still has to make sense when you use it.

When you send feedback about Live Orbit, it reaches the person making those decisions. That direct connection is something I want to keep.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I’m particular.
And pretty curious.

I like being able to take an idea and see what I can make of it. That usually means trying things, asking a lot of questions, and changing my mind when something else works better.

I’m also someone who notices the small things. If something feels off, I find it hard to leave it alone. You can probably tell from these apps: I spend a lot of time getting them to feel the way I had in mind.

WHY APPS MADE BETTER?

A name that says
what I want to do.

I wanted a straightforward name that could grow with different apps. Apps Made Better felt right because it describes the work: notice what could be clearer, more useful, or more natural, and keep improving it.

I’m particular about the small things. The wording of a button. Space around an image. An animation that should be quieter, or shouldn’t be there at all. Those choices add up to how an app feels.

HOW I WORK

Modern tools.
My responsibility.

I use AI-assisted development tools for planning, coding, debugging, and iteration. They’re part of how I build. I’m responsible for the direction, the decisions, the review, and the result.

I want to be open about that process. What matters to me is making something useful, testing it carefully, and continuing to improve it when there’s more to learn.
